Privacy

This explains what TAGNTAG collects, why we hold it, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.

What we collect

• Your account. Email address, username, password (stored only as a scrambled value we cannot reverse), and date of birth. The date of birth is used to work out whether you are under 18, which changes your default privacy settings.
• What you put on TAGNTAG. Your profile, videos, photos, captions, challenges, comments, votes and private messages.
• How you use it. Which posts you have viewed, and basic counts such as how many TAGs you have sent and answered.
• Safety signals. Reports made about content, and the outcome of moderation decisions. Where we record the IP address of a vote, it is stored scrambled so it cannot be read back.

Why we hold it

To run the platform, to keep it safe, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

Automated checks on what you write

Captions, comments, messages and challenges are checked automatically before they go live. Challenges get the strictest check, because a challenge asks a real person to do something. Some content is refused outright and some is passed to a human to look at. You can contest a decision through an appeal.

Who can see your content

Posts follow the audience you choose. Private messages are visible to the people in the conversation, and to a moderator if they are reported. If you block someone, you disappear from each other across the whole platform, in both directions.

Videos and images are served from links that are long and unguessable but not individually access-checked. Anyone you forward such a link to can open it. Do not treat a media link as private.

Getting your data, and leaving

You can download everything we hold about you, and you can delete your account, from your settings. Deleting erases your name, email, profile and date of birth, and withdraws your posts, comments and messages.

Two things deliberately survive deletion. Records of moderation decisions are kept, so that deleting an account cannot be used to destroy the evidence of a report made against it. And if someone has blocked you, that block stays in place — otherwise deleting and returning would undo the protection they chose.

How long we keep things

Your content stays while your account exists. After deletion, what remains is the anonymised moderation record described above, which is no longer linked to your name or email.

If you are under 18

Accounts for under-18s start with more private defaults, and some settings cannot be loosened. Age is self-declared: we ask, and we currently have no way to verify the answer.

Your rights

In the UK and EU you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, and object to how it is used. The download and delete controls in settings cover access and erasure directly. For anything else, contact us.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will say so rather than quietly changing the date at the top.

TAGNTAG is a new and independent platform. This policy describes what the software genuinely does today, and it has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
